  1. Preheat your oven to 400F.
  2. Lightly spray a 12-cup muffin tin with cooking spray.
  3. Mix the flour, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
  4. In an electric mixer, beat the eggs, pumpkin, vanilla, applesauce and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add the flour mixture to the pumpkin mixture until combined well.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Divide the batter evenly in the muffin cups.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a pick inserted into a couple of the muffins comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before taking out of the muffin tin.
