This Apple Cider Turkey brine makes the turkey moist and tender. The brine tenderizers the meat and leaves it with a mild flavor.

  1. In a large pot, combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Stir until the salt and sugar is dissolved.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat, cover and let cool to room temperature.
  5. Place pot in the refrigerator until the water is cold.
  6. Using a brining bag, large glass or plastic container, combine the brine with a whole turkey or a turkey breast. Make sure the turkey is completely submerged in the brine.
  7. Put the turkey and brine in the refrigerator for at least one hour per pound of turkey or as long as 24 hours.
  8. Remove the turkey from the brine and rinse thoroughly. This step rinses the salt off of the turkey. Don’t worry, you aren’t undoing all of your work.
  9. Now you can prepare your turkey as your normally would. Enjoy!
