Nutty Cracker Delights are mildly sweet, a little salty and have a satisfying crunch. It's hard to eat just one! These tasty crackers are good for snacking or served as an appetizer.
These addictive little snacks are made with Club Crackers topped with a butter and sugar syrup then sprinkled with slivered almonds and baked. Yum!
The recipe calls for slivered almonds. Although they are just as tasty with sliced almonds, they aren't quite as pretty.
My mother emailed this recipe to me many years ago. This recipe was perfect for her because crackers were one of her favorite snacks. Mom's email said these crackers were "quite tasty". Jeff and I agree! The plastic container that I store the Nutty Crackers Delights in keep calling Jeff's name. 😉
I don't recall where Mom got the recipe, but, I did some searching and found that this recipe is on the Taste of Home site. So I'll give Taste of Home the credit.
The crackers store well for several days on the counter in an air tight container. According to the Taste of Home site, the crackers can be made ahead of time and frozen.
During baking, the sugar and butter mixture will get very hot. Be careful when handling the crackers when they are right out of the oven. I use a spatula to lift the crackers off the baking sheet and place them on a wire rack for cooling.
The butter and sugar mixture might melt during baking. You might need to use a knife, or the spatula, to cut between the crackers before lifting them off of the baking sheet. It is best to cut between the crackers while they are still hot.
Once the crackers cool, the sugar and butter mixture hardens so the crackers can be stacked or placed in a bowl for serving.

I hope you enjoy the Nutty Cracker Delights!
